Jimmy Butler spends $70,000 a month on a Miami Beach mansion amid trade rumors

Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is living big, spending upwards of $70,000 a month to rent a huge beachfront mansion on Miami Beach’s exclusive Hibiscus Island, sources told The Real Deal.

The six-time NBA All-Star, whose name has been floating around in trade rumors, has temporarily moved into the 8,500-square-foot property.

The five-bedroom estate boasts views of the ocean and Miami skyline.

Located on a prestigious, police-protected island, the property features superior construction, open spaces, high-end finishes and over 125 meters of waterfront with a private dock and boat lift.

Residents also have access to amenities such as a basketball court, a tennis court and a playground.

Butler made the move after selling his previous home in South Florida, a six-bedroom, 6,148-square-foot home near Coral Gables, for $8.3 million earlier this year.

While Butler keeps his roots in Miami, he’s no stranger to high-end real estate. He owns a luxury estate in San Diego, complete with a private cafe — a fitting touch for an NBA coffee mogul. His coffee company, Bigface, recently opened its first physical location in Miami’s trendy Design District.

The Hibiscus Island Butler mansion was built in 2001 and is currently on the market for $30 million.

Broker Julian Johnston of the Corcoran Group handled the lease and represented Butler. He declined to comment on the deal.

Property records reveal the home is owned by Miami parking lot magnate Andrew Mirmelli, who snapped up the property for $21 million in 2021.

The Heat superstar still has a four-year, $184 million contract extension he signed through 2021, with $49 million reserved for this season.

Despite his digs in Miami, reports suggest Butler could be eyeing a move west, with the Phoenix Suns said to be among his potential trade destinations.

Hibiscus Island has been making waves in the Miami real estate scene lately. In August, developer Paul Vogele sold a waterfront mansion for a record $40.3 million. Just a month later, a Dubai-based buyer plunked down $15 million on a crash on the same island.
